Driver: Transporting clients to and from Doctors appointments, Possess or willing to obtain CPR, Defensive Driving, Passenger Assistance classes provided by medical transport broker. Non-Emergency Medical Transport (NEMT). Duties include transporting the elderly and people with disabilities to and from medical appointments using your own vehicle or company vehicle. No experience necessary start immediately. This position is sort of like lyft or Uber but displaying more empathy towards the population we serve. As a driver for our agency, you will provide essential services to elderly clients or patients with disabilities, a chronic illness, or other health issues. Our ideal candidate is patient, independent, and self-sufficient, who enjoys taking care of others.

 

Position requirements:
Must be 18 years or older (No Exception)
Valid Massachusetts driver’s license and clean driving record.
Must Pass the per-employment physical, drug screen and background check

Key responsibilities: Provide a variety of services focused on enhancing the client’s quality of living.

  • Perform assigned daily transports in safe and timely manner.
  • Complete all paperwork required for transportation services rendered.
  • Complete a daily inspection of assigned vehicle before start of the day.
  • Assist with delivery of public transportation tokens and passes as needed.
  • Driver must be courteous, patient, and professional at all times, as well as neat and clean in appearance per the driver handbook.
  • Provide the excellent customer service to medical facilities and patients
  • Ability to safely transfer patients in and out of vehicles as well as medical facilities
  • Complete pre-scheduled and on-demand NEMT work within your provided availability
  • Make nightly calls to scheduled riders to inform them of estimated pick-up time
  • Complete work through our application and ensure safe transportation for riders between home and approved facilities and locations
  • Communicate all issues, cancellations, and no-shows with dispatch team, when safe to do so, through the supervisor
  • Accommodate all rider needs curb-to-curb, and use Rivers of Hope best practices in all rider interactions, as outlined during agency education of policies set forth by the State Department of Health Services
  • Maintain a clean vehicle, free of any odors, to ensure pleasant transportation for riders

Qualifications: Must be 18 years or older (No Exception)

Education and Experience: High School Diploma.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The following are some of the physical demands commonly associated with this position.

  • The work is mostly sedentary with periods of light physical activity and is performed in offices to surroundings
  • Typical positions require workers to walk or stand for long periods
  • Lift and carry up to 20 pounds; climb stairs, bend, reach, hold, grasp, and turn objects; and operate computer or typewriter keyboards
  • The work requires the ability to speak normally and use normal or aided vision and hearing
  • Subject to work beyond the normal scheduled hours of work to attend evening meetings and work sessions.

Definitions:

Occasionally: Activity exists less than 1/3 of the time.

Frequently: Activity exists between 1/3 and 2/3 of the time.

Constantly: Activity exists more than 2/3 of the time.

Job Type: Full-Time, Part-Time, or Per Diem

Required license or certification: Valid driver license and transportation
